Millions worldwide struggle with high blood pressure, seeking natural remedies. Can nature provide a solution, and why is high blood pressure so dangerous?

If you search the internet about blood pressure, you'll find that about one-third of the adult population globally suffers from high blood pressure, according to the World Health Organization. High blood pressure is also known as "the silent killer" because there are no obvious symptoms without a specific test. But what exactly are we talking about?

Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood on the walls of the blood vessels. It is measured by two numbers: the upper (systolic) is the pressure when the heart beats, and the lower (diastolic) is the pressure between heartbeats. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 or less.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is when the blood pressure exceeds 140/90. It's called "the silent killer" because its symptoms aren't usually visible. However, it significantly increases the risk of severe health complications such as stroke, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, vision loss, and vascular diseases.

Although the causes of high blood pressure are not fully understood, studies have shown that many factors can increase the risk of developing the condition: age, family history of hypertension, being overweight, poor diet, lack of physical activity, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, chronic illnesses, and high cholesterol.

How Do You Treat It?

The recommended treatment for high blood pressure involves significant lifestyle changes. In most cases, doctors advise patients to lose weight if they are overweight, adjust their diet, and incorporate physical activity. In severe cases, medication may be recommended. There are numerous studies proposing natural treatment options, but it is crucial to consult a doctor before making any dietary changes or using supplements or drinks for treatment.

British health researcher Ryan Taylor recently published a recipe for a drink he claims may significantly reduce high blood pressure within six weeks. Though it sounds promising, he also emphasizes consulting with a doctor before trying the drink, especially for those taking blood pressure medications. The drink includes various teas and potassium citrate, a mineral that can be purchased as a powder in health shops, commonly used to prevent kidney stones.

  • Hibiscus tea bag

  • Lemon balm tea bag

  • Water

  • Quarter teaspoon of potassium citrate

  • Optional sweetener

    How to Prepare:

Steep the tea bags in boiling water for at least 8 minutes (important), then add the powder and sweetener. Mix well and drink on an empty stomach first thing in the morning for at least six weeks.
