A hidden danger lurks in the summer heat, aside from the temperature itself, according to an American doctor named Dr. David Cangello.

The culprit? It's your glasses perched on your face and head. "The reason is that bacteria and oils can get trapped under parts of the eyeglass frame, and when the frame touches your facial skin, it leads to clogged pores and acne," says Dr. Cangello.

This acne caused by glasses is medically referred to as mechanical acne (Acne Mechanica in English), and it often occurs when there's pressure, heat, or other factors blocking the pores.

While it's impossible to avoid wearing glasses all summer, don't worry. There's a solution, and it lies in how you clean your facial skin—especially in the areas where glasses make contact. Deep and thorough cleansing in these areas can help. Dermatologists recommend using a facial cleanser containing AHA and BHA.

Even those who rest their glasses on their ears and head can develop mechanical acne, so it's best to avoid doing so.
