At some point, we all embark on a diet journey. According to experts, the best month to start is not during the summer.

A study conducted at Oxford University in England found that starting a diet in the summer months is not recommended. Instead, January is considered the best time, as it experiences higher success rates in weight loss.

The study tracked 85,514 people in the UK who participated in a diabetes prevention project from 2017 to 2018. These participants did not develop diabetes despite having high blood sugar levels.

Participants, whose average age was 65, were advised to consume healthier foods and engage in physical activity. Meetings with participants took place both in person and online.

According to the study results published in Obesity magazine, there was significant success among those who began their diet in January.

Researchers noted that it's difficult to stick to a diet during the summer months due to the nature of the season, which includes breaks from routine and many vacations.
