#VALUE!
Many rely on bread boxes to maintain freshness, but in the heat of summer, this might not be the best solution.
Air exposure negatively affects both store-bought and homemade bread, as it gradually absorbs moisture that keeps bread soft and fluffy. Therefore, the best solution is to store bread in a cool, dark place, wrapped and sealed, protected from air.
When temperatures rise, it is advisable to keep bread in the refrigerator or freezer. However, nutrition expert Brigitte Brandl suggests storing it in earthenware or ceramic containers instead.
Contrary to popular belief, to prevent mold, bread should be taken out of the bag rather than left in it. While the bag preserves freshness, during hot days, moisture collects inside the bag, creating mold.
Additionally, Brandl recommends that during summer, bread should be stored cut-side down while refrigerated.
