Feeling Low on Energy? Discover These Foods That Boost Blood Flow
A new study reveals the foods that excel in boosting blood flow and energizing the body: berries, turmeric, fish, garlic, and cinnamon.

It is no secret that Hashem has embedded remedies for our ailments in the foods we consume (and of course in everything Maimonides highlights for a healthy lifestyle). A new study has identified foods that 'excel' in enhancing blood circulation and providing a 'boost' of energy: berries, turmeric, fish, garlic, and cinnamon.
Another reason to enjoy a quarter cup of blueberries daily: berries not only aid in lowering blood pressure, but their rich antioxidants also promote good blood flow throughout our bodies.
Turmeric, containing the compound curcumin, has been the subject of an intriguing study that found it improves blood circulation. Among 39 participants, all showed significant improvements in blood flow over the 12-week duration of the study.
Research has shown that cinnamon relaxes blood vessels, thus encouraging better circulation. The optimal method is to dissolve cinnamon in a cup of hot water. In one study, 59 diabetic patients who took 1200 mg of cinnamon daily alongside their usual diabetes medications experienced enhanced metabolism and a reduction in their systolic blood pressure.
Lastly, let's not overlook garlic and fish (specifically those rich in omega-3 fatty acids). Salmon and mackerel, for example, significantly boost blood flow due to their omega-3 fats, which prevent platelet clumping and blood clots. Garlic also enhances circulation and relaxes blood vessels thanks to its sulfur compound, allicin.
