"When a person regularly eats fast food, their taste receptors become stimulated with the wide array of flavors present in large quantities in these foods, causing us not to taste normal foods, meaning they become flavorless for us," explains Dr. Tikhomirova, a nutrition expert.
Furthermore, fast food contains high levels of salt, which can cause bloating in the body.
Consuming fast food can lead to an increase in insulin levels in the blood because of the high carbohydrate content. As insulin levels rise, the desire to eat more intensifies.
