A significant seven-year study from Harvard University in the U.S., which involved half a million participants (primarily Chinese but not exclusively), has shown that incorporating curry into your diet on a regular weekly basis reduces the risk of premature death by about 15%.
The researchers divided the participants into two groups: one consumed curry three or more times a week, while the other group did not consume any curry at all. By the end of the study, the researchers were able to demonstrate that the first group was healthier, less prone to chronic diseases, helped in the treatment of heart problems, and even fought the development of cancer cells.
Although traditional curry has undergone many changes since its discovery in the 17th century, the spice mix we know today includes numerous wonderful herbs: cumin, turmeric, coriander, chili, and fenugreek are the main ingredients of the branded curry available in stores, and each on its own holds significant health benefits.
"Consuming three tablespoons of curry a week will strengthen your immune system and fill you with forces and energies you won't understand where they're coming from," explain the Harvard researchers. "Curry is a powerful health booster, and everyone should incorporate it into their weekly diet."
