#VALUE!
Former Mayor of Truro (the capital of Cornwall, UK), Brett Bisco, was recently declared dead. He suffered a heart attack at his home and fell into a coma, leaving his condition uncertain for ten days. Then, much to everyone's surprise, he awoke and recounted his visit to the afterlife.
"I saw what happens after death, and there is one thing I remember clearly," shared the now-council member, who had experienced a diabetic incident and was put under critical care. The 70-year-old Bisco was near death, potentially experiencing clinical death according to reports. After awakening, he mentioned, "I didn't like what I encountered there and returned from the dead."
That wasn't all he recalled from the coma. He remembered seeing tubes coming out of him and, as his doctors, wife, and daughters stood in the room, he felt as though he was floating above them. He described his experience of being dead before coming back to life: "I was dead. I spent some time on the other side, in total darkness. Let's just say the accommodations weren't to my liking, so I came back. I was in a coma, but had no concept of how much time had passed or what had really happened."
Bisco shared with the media that he doesn't believe in miracles, but he met a woman upon leaving the hospital who claimed she prayed for his return throughout his coma. He felt the well-wishes from many while on the other side and expressed gratitude to those who cared about his wellbeing and to the medical staff. "It was a mix of technology, skill, and a bit of *l'chaim*," he said.
Finally, Bisco was asked what people wanted to know once he awoke. He said, "They asked if I had any visions or hallucinations, but the answer is no. It was simply dark there. Even some researchers in the ICU asked me. Unfortunately, not much more happened beyond that."
