This is one of the most unusual and heartwarming stories you'll read about lately: At the beginning of the week, a hearing-impaired boy lost his hearing implant, worth around $10,000, during a fun day in Maale Adumim. The implant fell out of his ear, and he was unable to hear. Finally, after tremendous effort and the massive mobilization of volunteers, it was found after 14 hours inside the trash.

According to News 12, the family, who became frantic following the incident, reached out to the volunteers of the Yedidim organization for help in the search. After 14 hours of intense searching, the volunteers found the valuable implant inside a garbage compactor. It turned out the cleaner had found it and accidentally thrown it away.

The organization’s volunteers arrived at the scene after gaining access to surveillance footage. They reviewed the recordings and realized that the implant had been mistakenly tossed into the trash compactor, making their task difficult from then on: the volunteers knew they had to empty the massive compactor and began rummaging through the garbage. The search began in the evening and continued until three in the morning. When they couldn't find it, they decided to wait for dawn. After 14 hours of searching, the implant was found, and the delighted parents thanked them.

The boy's mother told News 12, "We are very, very grateful to the people of Israel and are so moved by the mobilization and aid provided for the sake of our child. The wonderful volunteers rummaged through the trash. There’s nothing like the people of Israel. We pray that all of our lost and missing people will be found and returned to their families soon." The Yedidim organization stated, "The implant was finally found by Yishai Atia, a volunteer with the motorcycle unit and head of the Jerusalem hub. We thank all the volunteers who greatly assisted in the search."
