#VALUE!
During the months of IDF fighting in the Gaza Strip, we have come across both painful and moving stories. However, one story that emerged yesterday (Monday) sounds almost unbelievable: as part of the ongoing operation by Division 162 in the Zeitoun neighborhood in the northern part of the strip, soldiers from the Nahal Brigade found a small Torah scroll.
It turns out that during their search, the soldiers located weapons and destroyed launch sites in the area. They also found pictures of terrorists and even a Hamas propaganda booklet, but one item caught their eye more than the others: a children's Torah scroll doll.
This is a colorful doll that is commonly found in synagogues during Simchat Torah, given to children who cannot lift the Torah scrolls during the hakafot (celebratory circuits).
It is estimated that the terrorists took the doll from one of the homes in the surrounding settlements. During the massacre in the settlements, the terrorists stole equipment from the victims and apparently looted the doll along with other items belonging to that family.
