Actress Hani Nachmias recently made headlines after stating she had a change of heart since the October 7 massacre. Last Friday, she stirred controversy again by expressing opposition to the hostage deal currently being discussed.
"I sincerely pray that what was promised to us in the news, both by the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister, goes to its full extent and doesn't become 'Hamastan'," Nachmias said. "They need to prove that this time their words have meaning."
When asked whether the situation should be taken to its full extent, even at the risk of the hostages, she replied: "I'm afraid to answer your question because I know what I think, and I know not everyone will be happy to hear it. But the way they're offering us a deal, from what I'm reading, we cannot accept it right now."
A few days ago, Nachmias was interviewed by "Galey Israel" and said that the events of October 7 caused her to rethink: "Fancy peace agreements are just papers that usually get thrown in the trash - that’s what they're worth," she said. "I was all for coexistence, embraced the idea, and even attended a joint memorial ceremony with Palestinians. I saw people from Kibbutz Gaza who practiced coexistence daily, employed Gazans, and supported their families."
"When I heard that Haniyeh's relatives received life-saving treatments in Israeli hospitals, I was shocked. Today I believe that in the Middle East, we need to speak Arabic. Our hostages did not receive medications! We have no indication that anyone even saw them, except for Sinwar the trash, who himself received life-saving treatments here in Israel. How long will we continue to be enlightened and foolish?"
