Recently, Miriam Peretz, a laureate of the Israel Prize, surprised singer Omer Adam with a phone call notifying him that he'd been selected to receive the 'Home Front Hero Award'. This award, distributed by the Zionist Council in Israel, honors citizens who have gone above and beyond for the people of Israel during times of conflict.

Peretz personally thanked Adam for his initiative, which even made it possible for her to see her own son. Adam's project, which offers free transportation to reservist soldiers, allowed them to travel across the country and safely reach their homes. Through his efforts, he invested millions of shekels, which he raised by himself. The committee, led by Peretz, chose to grant him one of the 16 awards recognizing commendable volunteerism. "The award committee decided you would receive the 'Home Front Hero Award' for your support of the soldiers, your performances, and boosting morale. Personally, I want to tell you: I was able to meet my son because of you. He was stationed in the furthest north and needed to get to Mount Dov's home quickly, and thanks to the taxis and transportation you provided to IDF soldiers, with Hashem's help, I was able to meet my son quickly."

According to Peretz, Omer was deeply moved by their conversation but remained characteristically humble, saying, "I think all of Israel pitches in, although this is a great honor for me." Among the recipients of this honor are Yosef Haddad and comedian Guy Hochman, who have also made remarkable sacrifices since the beginning of the conflict by lifting morale and advocating for Israel.
