In the U.S., Idan Amedi is recognized more as an actor than a singer. After yesterday's announcement of his serious injury during an IDF operation in Khan Yunis, reportedly caused by a tunnel entrance explosion, global media is intensely covering the event. Amedi's father confirmed his son is in serious condition but stable.

Amedi's acting career, ongoing since 2017, hasn't escaped journalists' attention. He stars in the Israeli series "Fauda," which is highly popular and a global sensation.

The "New York Post" headlined, "'Fauda' star seriously injured in Gaza operation," citing Israeli media about his condition. They included images from his reserve service during the conflict, alongside his "Fauda" photos. American entertainment site "Deadline" reported, "One of 'Fauda's' stars wounded in Gaza fighting."

German media also covered the event extensively. "Berliner Zeitung" mentioned, "Star of Israeli Netflix series 'Fauda' injured." Amedi was noted as a successful singer and actor. Italy's second-largest newspaper, "La Repubblica," published a major article on him. "The actor injured in Gaza," read the headline next to a photo of Amedi with IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi. "Reality blended with fiction."

Various sites noted that Amedi portrays an undercover agent named Sagi Tzur in the series, and now he's seriously injured after fighting for Israel, much like in the show. An Instagram page dedicated to the series stated: "Idan is one of the kindest and warmest people, beloved by all. His love for music is a special part of our set. Let's pray together for his swift recovery."

Actor Lior Raz, his series co-star, wrote: "Our dear brother Idan is a true hero. From day one of the war, he chose to set everything aside and join the fight, first in the north and then in the south. We are praying for his speedy recovery and trust he will be fine. The 'Fauda' family extends condolences to the families of the fallen and wishes full recovery to the injured."
