IDF Major (res.) Roi Yanovsky, head of the investigations desk at Channel 13 News, served in combat after the Simchat Torah massacre. After fighting deep inside Gaza and leaving the Strip briefly with his team for rest and recovery, Yanovsky shared a revealing post on X (formerly Twitter) titled “Things We Find Inside Gaza Homes.”

According to Yanovsky, the most common items discovered by soldiers in the homes of Gaza residents are RPG rockets and Kalashnikov rifles. “The supply is impressive, no doubt,” he wrote.

Next on the list: explosive devices. “It’s hard to find a street without at least one house that keeps several ready for activation,” he added. He also mentioned combat vests, uniforms, and other quality military gear found in abundance.

Among the more unusual discoveries:

  • Grad rockets hidden inside residential buildings.

  • A calendar illustrated with a drawing of Gilad Shalit being led into captivity by Hamas terrorists.

  • Additional drawings depicting various terror attacks.

  • A book titled “Battle Legacy” chronicling attacks from the Second Intifada.

Finally, Yanovsky noted one particularly disturbing find — a children’s coloring book that begins with a description of the Nakba.
He added that almost every home features a “Map of Palestine” based on the British Mandate borders, notably without any mention of Israel.

His post sheds light on the depth of Hamas’ military and ideological presence embedded within civilian areas — and the extent to which propaganda and terror are interwoven into everyday Gazan life.
