Diver's Unexpected Find at the Lake Bottom
"I was sure it was just trash": What the diver found while searching for a lost ring

A diver searching the bottom of a lake in California discovered an ancient ring, one whose true value even surprised him.
This happened at Bass Lake, near the city of Fresno. The diver, named Michael Pelley, was hired by a woman who had lost her ring a few months earlier, hoping he would recover it.
In a social media post, Michael described the challenging task of searching for something so small. "When I reached the bottom, I realized how difficult this was going to be. The floor was muddy, and I couldn't see anything."

"For hours, I carefully felt through various objects until I encountered something metallic that seemed like an indistinct piece of metal. It wasn't until I surfaced to examine what I had found that I realized it could be the lost item."
"My husband and I have been married for ten years, and a few months ago, the ring went missing. I tried searching everywhere without success until I remembered it might have fallen into the water during our vacation."
The precious ring, valued at $9,500, was given to Jenny by her husband on their engagement day, making it very special to her. Although it was now old and dirty and barely resembled her ring, he indeed confirmed it was her lost treasure.
"We could only confirm it after cleaning off the dirt, but it was very exciting," he said.
"I can't believe you managed to find it in those murky waters," Jenny said, expressing her gratitude.
