In April, Tim Shaddock, a 51-year-old sailor from Sydney, Australia, set out on a voyage from Mexico to French Polynesia with his dog, embarking on a journey spanning over 6,000 kilometers. About a month into their trip, a storm caused significant damage to their boat, disabling it. All the electronic devices on board were destroyed, and the boat began drifting in the Northern Pacific Ocean, leaving Tim unable to call for help.

Last Thursday, more than two months after the destructive storm, a helicopter spotted Tim and his dog off the coast of Mexico. After the rescue, BBC News reported that Tim would be brought to Mexico, receive medical examinations, and treatment as needed.

A doctor on the rescue vessel reported that Tim's vital signs were stable and his overall condition was good.

Speaking to the Australian media, Tim shared, "I've been through a very tough ordeal at sea. I need to rest and eat well because I was alone at sea for a long time. Other than that, I'm in very good health."

Tim recounted that he had survival gear and fishing equipment on the boat. During the two months at sea, he consumed fish and drank rainwater. Tim and his dog managed to find shade, protecting them from heatstroke.
