Pnina Rosenblum didn’t foresee the stir she would cause after Shabbat ended. Rosenblum shared a family moment during a Shabbat meal, which turned out to be a barbecue evening. Although she apologized, traditional followers didn’t hold back their criticism.
"I invited the family over for a barbecue on my balcony. Naturally, I’m on the grill. Shabbat Shalom," she wrote. However, the timing wasn’t in her favor.
Comments poured in: "Why on Shabbat? At least do it privately. Show some respect," "Disgusting, don’t you have any fear of Hashem? Why on Shabbat?", "Pride. A barbecue on Shabbat, poor neighbors," "Lighting a fire on Shabbat is the pinnacle. May Hashem guide you back to full repentance," "Why on Shabbat? And you even boast about it? At least not in public."
Recently, similar online debates target those who dare to post photos of themselves with tefillin, sparking discussions on whether this disrespects the traditional community.
After facing online criticism, Rosenblum quickly issued an apology. "To all my friends and followers on Instagram and Facebook, especially those offended by my Shabbat barbecue post, I apologize. In hindsight, I realize I should have been more considerate of my traditional and religious followers. I will try to avoid posting such content in the future. Wishing you all a good week ahead."
