Unexpected Detour: A Woman Discovers Mid-Flight She's on the Wrong Plane
Ever found yourself in the wrong place by accident? This woman's airborne mix-up is a tale you won't believe.

Recently, a truly bizarre incident occurred at a local airport in Pennsylvania. A frequent traveler on the Philadelphia-Florida route, Beverly Ellis-Hubbard was shocked to realize mid-flight that she was on the wrong plane!
Beverly embarked on what she thought would be a routine flight. "I needed to use the restroom shortly before takeoff," she explained. After a recent back surgery, she moved a bit slower than usual, and when she returned, the boarding gate was about to close. She quickly boarded, but a flight attendant asked her to weigh her carry-on bag."
Before heading to the restroom, the flight crew had told her the flight would take off in about twenty minutes, and considering that the restroom was very close, her calculation seemed correct.
"As I put my bag on the scale, I injured my hand and started bleeding. The flight attendant hurried me onto the plane, and another attendant helped bandage my hand once we were airborne."
While bandaging her hand, the flight attendant joked that Beverly could relax once she landed in Jamaica, which Beverly assumed was a jest. "I laughed and said I'd love to visit, but I have a beach where I live in Florida," Beverly recounted. "Then she looked at me seriously and said, 'Look at me. This plane is going to Jamaica.' From her expression, I knew she wasn't kidding."
Adding to the mix-up, Beverly didn't have her passport, assuming she wouldn't need one for a domestic flight.
So how did such a significant error occur?
It seems to be a combination of oversight by both the flight crew and Beverly, who didn't notice the gate change while she was in the restroom. Once the mistake was realized, Jamaican authorities allowed her to wait at the local airport until the next flight back to Philadelphia, which took several more hours.
How did Frontier Airlines, the company responsible for the gate change, respond? "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passenger and for her failure to board the right flight. We have issued an apology and provided financial compensation and a refund for her ticket."
