Opened a bottle of oil, removed the tab, and threw it away? Like most of us, who would have thought there was a use for the tab that separates the oil from the cap? Take note of this surprising detail.

Until now, we thought the tab's purpose was to prevent oil from leaking until the bottle was opened and to ensure it remained sealed. But now, we're astonished to learn that it has an important role — to control the amount of oil we pour into the pan.

In a video circulating on social media, a person is shown opening an oil bottle for the first time. Instead of throwing the tab away after removing it, they turned it upside-down and placed it back into the bottle, a maneuver that helped control the flow of liquid poured into the pan.

Needless to say, many viewers were surprised to discover this unknown use for the tab and enthusiastically commented, with the recurring question being: "Why didn't anyone tell us sooner?"
