Is the Viral 'Gorilla Fish' Real? The Truth Behind the Internet Sensation
An image of a man holding a giant fish with a gorilla face is taking the internet by storm. Is the fish real, and what does it have to do with a bris? You'll have to read on to find out.

Some creatures in the world are so 'scary' that they often don't seem real - yet they very much exist, and only Hashem in His wisdom knows why He created them the way they are.
Given this, you might expect us to give our 'seal of approval' on the gorilla fish, but the opposite is true. In this case, the fish is not real, despite claims by the viral influencer Mike Holston that it is.
"A wonderful picture of the Algerian gorilla fish," Holston wrote in the photo that quickly went viral, garnering nearly half a million comments and likes. Holston described the fish as one that "lays 34 eggs, changes its skin color to bright red, swims in schools, lives on average 13 years unless it's circumcised. If circumcised, it can live up to 48," he wrote.
So, what really happened here, and why do we see a man holding a gorilla fish?

If you haven't figured it out yet, now's the time to use a word many of you love: Photoshop.
Yes, indeed, that's exactly what Photoshop can do: paste an animal's face onto the body of another and claim it as one creature. If you were skeptical from the start - well done, because not everything published online deserves our trust.
