"Can you give me a shekel?" With these words, Yoni David initiated his social experiment, addressing Yosef, an elderly man who often plays the accordion near a branch of Bank Hapoalim in an Israeli city.

Upon hearing the odd request, even Yosef seemed puzzled.

"You need a shekel?" he asked back.

When Yoni confirmed, Yosef wasted no time. He reached into his bag, where his accordion lay, and even before starting his usual routine, he pulled out the desired coin and handed it to David. "Here you go," he said.

"Thank you very much," Yoni replied, and then he pulled a metaphorical rabbit out of the hat: "Because you're a kind person and you play beautifully, I want to give you 100 shekels."

Yosef couldn't believe his eyes.

He took the bill and said, "Thank you very much, truly. A generous heart. You have a generous heart."
