Passover is almost here, and it's the perfect time for spring cleaning. We have unbeatable tips for cleaning and shining kids' toys, strollers, and car seats using only natural ingredients.
Cleaning Fabric Dolls
Wash the outer covers of the dolls according to the label. Usually, a delicate cycle works best. If you're worried and want to be extra careful, place them in a pillowcase tied with a rubber band before washing.
Cleaning Strollers
Every baby stroller comes with instructions on how to clean the fabric (you'll find them on the underside of the fabric). If the fabric isn't detachable, clean it using these three steps:
1. Mix juice from three lemons with three tablespoons of salt and a quarter cup of dishwashing liquid in a bowl.
2. Use a stiff brush dipped in the solution to scrub the fabric thoroughly on all sides.
3. Once you've cleaned every part of the fabric, soak up the solution with a dry cloth and set the stroller aside to dry.
4. If there's a smell of urine, add baking soda to your solution to help eliminate it.
Cleaning Wooden Toys
Wooden toys should be cleaned without water to avoid swelling and damage.
How to clean them: Mix a small amount of water with vinegar in a bowl, dampen a cloth in the solution, and quickly wipe down the wooden parts. Let the toys air dry for several hours.
Cleaning Plastic Toys
Place all plastic toys in a basin filled with hot water and a little baking soda or citric acid. Let them sit for about an hour, then scrub each toy individually and allow them to dry naturally.
If you prefer using an alternative cleaning liquid, major stores offer an eco-friendly antibacterial water-based option that you can use to clean the toys.
