Against All Odds: Identical Twins Celebrate Their 99th Birthday Together in Florida
Ira Daniel Lackey and Vera Rozier, identical twins, marked their 99th birthday last week. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the likelihood of identical twins both reaching the age of 100 is one in 700 million.

Ira Daniel Lackey and Vera Rozier, residents of Florida, USA, celebrated their 99th birthday last week, surrounded by family and friends. The director of the senior living center where they reside said he would host a birthday celebration unlike any other for the twins.
Lackey told the media she is grateful to have reached this day with very few physical limitations. Her sister added, "I may not have the energy I had when I was younger, but I feel wonderful," Rozier said.
On their special day, their children read out messages of love and appreciation. Vita, Lackey's daughter, thanked her mother for raising three children despite being widowed. Rozier's daughter shared that she has the best mother she could ask for, and the senior living center director joined in with the blessings: "These two ladies are celebrating their 99th birthday today. It means they're here against all odds. I wish us all the health and happiness to reach such a moment."
