A 36-year-old man from India left his family and friends in shock when he was found alive and well, eight months after being declared dead.

When Kandy Balakrishnan went missing last June, his family reported to the local police that he had not returned home for several days. A month later, the police discovered a body on the beach and identified it as the missing Kandy.

His family received the news with sorrow and held a funeral as is customary in India. A few days later, the police realized that the body found was not Kandy. A DNA test confirmed that the deceased was another missing person who resembled Kandy, and the police resumed their search for the missing man.

After months of searching, the police in Margao Town stumbled upon Kandy by accident while they were monitoring illegal residents at a local hotel.

Kandy, who had been missing for 8 months, told the police that during his "death," he worked at various places before moving to the hotel in Margao, where he was found. Upon his arrest, Kandy learned about his "funeral" and smiled, saying he was completely unaware of the situation. The police contacted his family to inform them that he was found alive and healthy.
