10-Year-Old Hero: Miracle's Incredible Story of Delivering Her Sister
A girl named 'Miracle' became the hero of the day in the U.S. by successfully delivering her sister with the guidance of a paramedic on the phone.

A ten-year-old became the hero of the day, earning two awards in Missouri, U.S.A., after helping her mother deliver her baby sister.
Ironically, the girl's name is 'Miracle,' and many people reading her story are attributing a double meaning to her name.
It all started with a 911 call. The call was answered by a paramedic named Scott Stranghoener. "Suddenly, I hear a ten-year-old girl on the line explaining that her mother Viola was complaining of pain. I asked if her mother was pregnant, and she confirmed yes. Immediately, I thought she might be in labor."
Scott kept his cool.
"Pretty quickly, I realized we had a serious situation on our hands. We have a set of protocols for such situations, and I guided Miracle according to them. She followed all of my instructions and did an amazing job."
Within ten minutes of Scott explaining what to do, Miracle understood the incredible privilege and miracle in which she partook: bringing her little sister into the world, three weeks early. "Miracle is truly a miracle, and everything about it was miraculous because the minute my baby was born, she came out, and I couldn’t really catch her. Miracle was the one who wrapped her in a towel," says Miracle's mother, Violet. "Scott instructed her to wipe the baby with a towel and rub her back a little so she could cry. So... my daughter was truly helpful. I’m really grateful."
