Unusual Phenomenon: Four-Eared Cat Turns Internet Star
Meet Midas, the kitten born with an extra set of ears and a heart-shaped patch on his belly. In just a few months, he became an internet sensation, amassing hundreds of thousands of followers eagerly tracking his adventures.

The cat, not yet a year old, was born with a rare genetic mutation that caused him to grow an extra set of ears. Only one pair functions for hearing, while the other pair is purely cosmetic.
According to his owner Canis, Midas is a playful yet very friendly cat. "He spends his days sleeping and wakes up at night," she said. Canis adopted Midas after a stray cat gave birth to him and six other kittens in her best friend's yard.
Besides his double ears, Midas has a heart-shaped patch on his belly, which is what caught Canis's attention. Despite these unusual features, the vet who examined Midas claims he has excellent hearing.
