Francisca Susano, affectionately known as Lola, has passed away at the age of 124 years, 2 months, and 11 days. Lola was the last living person from the 19th century, and it is claimed she was possibly the oldest person ever to have lived. The elderly Lola passed away last Monday night, and her body was found at her home in the Philippines.
The local government in her hometown of "Kabankalan" confirmed the news on social media. According to reports, documents exist proving Lola was born in September 1897, the last year when the Spanish ruled the Philippines. Local information officer, Jake Carlyne Gonzales, told CNN News that the cause of Lola's death has not yet been determined, although it is unlikely she passed away due to the coronavirus, as she exhibited no symptoms of the disease.
According to authorities, Lola's age exceeded that of previous record holders by almost two years, although other sources were unable to verify this claim until her passing. Recently, Guinness World Records gathered all necessary documents to verify this claim and declare her the world record holder. Currently, according to Guinness World Records, the person holding this title is Jeanne Calment, who was born in 1875 and passed away in 1997 at the age of 122 years and 164 days.
