Turning Shipping Containers into a Dream Home: A Surprising Transformation
Claudie Dubreuil wanted a unique home on a tight budget. Spotting old shipping containers at the Port of Montreal sparked her creative journey. Prepare to be amazed by the results.

Claudie Dubreuil worked with a Canadian construction company, guiding many clients as they built their dream homes. When it was her turn, she knew her budget was limited and she wanted something original—not just another cookie-cutter house. While strolling through the Port of Montreal, she noticed some old shipping containers and suddenly realized she had found the starting point for her new home.

She purchased four containers, which were delivered to her plot of land and stacked on top of each other. The exterior was then covered with pine wood, providing excellent insulation for the chilly winter months.

After a thorough cleaning of the interior, it was time to decorate. The result was stunning—a large living room window draws in natural light and creates a spacious, airy feel.

Claudie showed that with a bit of creativity and a willingness to think outside the box, any dream can be realized. Witness the incredible results for yourself:
