#VALUE!
For hundreds of years, Judaism endured humiliation. In Islamic countries, under the "Conditions of Omar," Jews faced numerous harsh and frustrating indignities. Among them, synagogues were always built lower, and cantors were not allowed to loudly sing their beautiful prayers!
Those who know me understand I'm a history enthusiast, seeing everything through a historical lens. So, when I heard the muezzin praying loudly, I immediately envisioned generations of cantors who had to pray in whispers in Islamic lands, in fear and dread of Muslim authorities. Cantors who would hear the muezzin and fall silent.
I grabbed the microphone instantly, and shouted on behalf of humiliated generations of Jews, embracing the acceptance of the yoke of Heaven's kingdom with pride and a soul-stirring Jewish song, as never before!
So, Jews, be proud of our prayers and our nationality! Because honestly, the eternal nation shall live forever in the eternal land.(Photo: Shmuel Avidani)
