What she didn't know was that two of them would be born conjoined (Siamese twins). They required emergency surgery to save their lives, but doctors recommended waiting until they were older, though no later than a year.
When Mackenzie and Macey were nine months old, the anticipated moment arrived, and they underwent a complex 24-hour surgery that successfully separated them. Their case quickly made local news, as it is medically rare to find conjoined twins within triplets. Even more intriguing is the story of the three girls: Mackenzie, Macey, and Madeline.
"We managed to save them, but each of them was left with only one leg," the doctors informed their biological mother, who immediately declared her intention to put them up for adoption, unable to raise them herself.
The triplet girls were adopted by a couple named Darla and Jeff Garrison, who already had three children. They pledged to do everything necessary to give these girls the chance to grow up properly, equally alongside others.
