Puppies and a Cobra: A Tale of Unexpected Kindness
Two puppies in Punjab, India, found themselves trapped in a well with a King Cobra, a snake whose venom can kill an elephant swiftly. However, the cobra's unexpected behavior will leave you astonished.

In the rural landscapes of Punjab, India, two stray puppies wandered away from their mother and fell into what could have been a life-threatening situation. They stumbled into an abandoned well in a village and found themselves trapped. A nearby resident was alerted by the incessant barking of the puppies' mother and went to investigate the source of the commotion. As he approached the well, he witnessed a sight he never expected.
Lying close to the trapped puppies was a King Cobra, one of the most venomous snakes in the world. Its venom can kill a fully grown elephant in just 3 hours if bitten in a vulnerable area like the trunk.
These snakes, however, usually prefer to flee rather than attack unless they feel threatened. And although cobras aren't known for preying on dogs, the rescue team that arrived on the scene was concerned about what might unfold.
But what happened next amazed everyone present. Instead of attacking the puppies, the cobra seemed to protect them. It stayed on the opposite side of the well, which had wet ground where the puppies were stuck.

For 48 hours, the little puppies were trapped with the snake at the bottom of the well, and at no point did it show aggression towards them. When the rescue team finally managed to reach the puppies, they were surprised at how relatively easy the task was. The cobra moved aside, allowing the rescuers to lift the puppies out without any issue. Once the puppies were saved, the cobra was also rescued and released back into the wild.
It's astounding to witness animals show compassion towards one another, even when they belong to different species. We, as humans, have much to learn from this.
