A Heartwarming Reunion: Lioness Remembers Her Rescuer
Kevin Richardson saved two lionesses from drowning and raised them until they were ready for the wild. Seven years later, he returned with a camera to visit them. Their reaction will astonish you.

Seven years ago, Kevin Richardson, a wildlife behavior expert from South Africa, rescued two young lionesses who were drowning in a river after being abandoned by their mother. Kevin raised them in a natural environment until they could fend for themselves. Without him, these lionesses might not have survived, or they could have fallen into the hands of hunters later in life. Fortunately, Kevin formed a special bond with them, providing lots of care and love.
Kevin has spent most of his life rescuing wildlife in Africa. Known as "The Lion Whisperer," he has forged unique relationships with the many lions he has saved.
Years ago, Kevin filmed a short documentary where he observed the lionesses after their return to the savannah. Driven by instinct, he watched one of them hunt successfully, even though she hadn't been taught to do so as a cub. Knowing this, Kevin was unsure how they would react when he visited them, seven years after releasing them back into the wild.
Accompanied by a film crew, Kevin visited the lionesses, now ten years old. Upon spotting the photographer, they initially behaved aggressively, despite warnings from everyone around him, Kevin moved closer to one of them. What happened next was beyond anyone's expectations.
Kevin waded into the river with a small camera. Suddenly, one of the lionesses approached, looked at him, and then… jumped into the water to embrace him. Watch the rare clip here:
