#VALUE!
A manager at a large supermarket in the United States recently called the police after a woman pictured here was caught stealing.
The store manager told the officers he had no idea what she had stolen, as the security cameras couldn't clearly capture it. When the officer arrived at the scene, he took her outside the store to avoid embarrassing her and asked, "What did you steal?" The woman didn't try to hide it: "I stole five eggs. Five eggs," she confessed, repeating her admission. "I stole five eggs to feed my hungry children."
The officer, a father himself, was moved by the mother's final sentence.
"Come with me, please," he requested, bringing her back inside the store and telling her: "I want you to walk through the aisles here and pick whatever you and your kids love. Don't worry about the money. I'm paying. Just think about making your children happy today."
Tears welled up in the mother's eyes, though she initially resisted. "Officer, there's no need. We'll be okay...," she tried to say, but it wasn't convincing. The officer insisted, and she found herself leaving the store with a cart any large family would envy.
"Officer, this is too much," she tried to tell him when they reached the checkout and the officer pulled out his credit card. But he paid with a smile and told her, "Even if sometimes the law can't always be enforced, humanity must always be practiced."
