A 32-year-old man from Kenya found himself in a bizarre and terrifying situation. Rushed to a local hospital after complaining of abdominal pain, he was erroneously pronounced dead, only to regain consciousness in the morgue where his cries of pain echoed after a pathologist made an incision in his leg.
Peter Kigen's ordeal began with a stomach ache he reported shortly before collapsing in front of his family, prompting them to rush him to the hospital.
Despite their efforts, hospital staff claimed that Peter had passed away well before his arrival at the emergency room, and he was sent to the morgue while his paperwork was being finalized. "The nurse handed me documents to take to the morgue staff before they moved him there for preservation," Peter's brother recounted.
But just as preparations for embalming were about to begin, the hospital was shaken by piercing screams coming from the morgue.
"Suddenly, they called me into the room, and I saw my brother moving," Peter's shocked brother explained. "It was unbelievable. How could they send a living person to the morgue?"
Following media coverage of the incident, Peter, now fully recovered, expressed his confusion over the mistaken declaration of his death while he was actually alive. "How did they conclude I was dead? I can't believe this really happened," he stated in disbelief.
Peter further shared that upon waking, he couldn't comprehend his surroundings—only that he felt an excruciating pain in his leg. "I thank Hashem for sparing my life and giving me a second chance," he concluded.
