Drama in China: Worker Rescued After Being Trapped in Sewer for Three Days
A construction worker in China, trapped in a sewer for three days, was miraculously rescued after a student noticed his fingers poking out during a driving lesson.

In China, a construction worker who was trapped in a sewer pit for three days was finally rescued thanks to a student who noticed his fingers poking out during a driving lesson.
The student, initially unsure of what he was seeing, reported hearing strange noises coming from the sewer. It was then that he noticed the fingers emerging from the hole. "It was like he was trying to send out a distress signal," the student recounted in an interview. When he approached the opening, he began communicating with the man inside the sewer. From their conversation, he understood the individual was a sanitation worker who had accidentally fallen into the underground sewer and couldn't escape.
According to the worker, he had been down there for a total of three days.
"I alerted the authorities, and firefighters were brought to the scene," the student explained. "They started working to rescue him, and it took about half an hour. It took some time to open the sewer, and only then were they able to extract the worker and take him to the hospital."
Li Haonan, one of the firefighters present at the scene, explained that they couldn't use heavy equipment for fear of injuring the man. "Our team, consisting of 4-5 members, had to use hammers to first open the manhole, which was surrounded by concrete. After that, we gave the man water and ensured he wasn't suffering from dehydration before the ambulance transported him to the hospital."
