Three young men from Toronto, Canada, were recently honored with a medal of distinction by the city's mayor after a truly heroic act. The trio found themselves in a life-saving scenario straight out of a movie, rescuing a blind man who had fallen onto the subway tracks.

Kyle Bosquein, one of the young men, recounted how he coincidentally arrived at the subway station. "I usually wouldn't stop here, but that day I decided to take the bus home from this location," he recalled.

Minutes after arrival, while waiting for the train, Bosquein suddenly heard faint cries for help coming from the tracks. "It was a very guttural and fearful sound," he said. "I approached the yellow line and, to my shock, saw a blind man lying on the tracks with his cane beside him. I was really alarmed. It was truly horrifying to see that."

Bosquein didn't hesitate. He jumped onto the tracks to assist the blind man, and was soon joined by two other young men who had witnessed the scene from afar and decided to help as well.

Together, the three young men lifted the blind man back onto the platform, though the task was by no means easy. "We were all in shock watching them in action," described Julie Caniglia, one of the passengers who had been waiting on the platform with others. "We hoped and prayed the train wouldn't arrive suddenly. The young men who saved him acted swiftly, but to us it felt like hours."

Fortunately, none of them were severely injured, and the blind man was taken to the hospital with only minor bruises.

"Honestly, it was the scariest thing I've ever seen," Julie shared in a video she uploaded to social media, which quickly went viral. "If they hadn't responded so quickly, I don't want to imagine the outcome," she concluded.
As mentioned, the three heroes - Jahangir Faisal, Kyle Bosquein, and Julio Cabrera - were recently honored at a special ceremony where they received an award from the mayor of Toronto and a year's free use of the city's public transportation as a token of appreciation for their heroic deed.
