In the viral post, writers Naama Ben Shimon and Chanan Benisti reflect on a bygone era, sharing their sentiments:

"We're a generation that won’t come back. A generation that walked to school and back—on foot.

A generation content with a sandwich filled with 'Shachar' chocolate spread.

A generation that felt pride when the teacher sent them for chalk, feeling like a UN envoy.

A generation that studied independently and invested in learning, because who had the budget for private tutors?

"A generation that stood at the board and wrote with pride, in front of the entire class.

A generation that didn’t bring mobile phones into school.

A generation that managed and wrote in diaries.

"A generation that did homework by themselves, and parents didn’t read it to us.

A generation that felt shame sitting in a bus seat while an elder stood.

A generation that kissed the bread after picking it up from the floor.

A generation that quietly laughed with siblings before sleeping, so parents wouldn’t hear us awake.

"A generation that respected parents, teachers, police, and neighbors.

A generation that went on school trips in 'Tiger' buses and camped out with sleeping bags.

A generation that played hide and seek, tag, 'go-go', 'pog', marbles, hopscotch, and five stones.

"A generation that drank sprinkler water on the way home from school, and brought water in a bag from home to friends.

A generation that loved what was available—and was satisfied with it.

Sadly, we’re a generation that won’t return."
