Royal Arrival: Dutch King Pilots His Own Flight to Israel
Dutch King Willem-Alexander surprised the control tower in Israel when he flew himself to participate in the recent International Holocaust Forum. Listen to the conversation between him and the air traffic controller.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands caught the Israeli control tower off guard this week by landing his own flight for the International Holocaust Forum recently held in the country.
In an extraordinary recording, the king is heard seeking permission from the air traffic controller to park the aircraft at the designated spot.
The air traffic controller transitioned him from air control to ground control - where the king received the requested approval, not before the controller took the opportunity to say, "Hello, Your Majesty," while guiding and instructing him on the procedures.
"Thank you very much," replied the king-pilot, successfully completing the task.
