We all have groundbreaking ideas, but the difference between those that conquer the world and those that remain tucked away in a remote corner of our minds is the courage and audacity to pursue what we believe in - all the way to the end...

Such was the idea of Dr. Rob Hackett from Sydney, who is now being celebrated across social media in the United States and gaining viral fame.

At first, his colleagues laughed at him. Nobody dared to inquire why Rob suddenly decided to write his name and specialty on his surgical cap in bold lettering.

"There goes the clown of the department," they joked when they recognized his red cap from afar, with its 'peculiar' inscription.

After several months of this, Rob decided to launch a Facebook page, urging surgeons across the U.S. to join his initiative—without explaining the reason behind it.

"Some Mistakes Should Never Happen"

But one bright day, his colleagues decided to ask what was behind the initiative. They assumed it was purely for self-promotion, but when the wise surgeon explained the reason behind his project, they were all moved—some even wiped away tears of emotion.

"Anyone who has ever entered an operating room knows it's like stepping into a grand surgical theater. All team members are dressed identically, which creates a sort of distance between patients and the team. I understand the uniforms are part of the hygiene we are required to maintain, but for those looking in from the outside, we appear like one big factory of white coats and masked faces. Doctors wear name tags on their shirts, but to notice them, you need to be really close. Also, amongst ourselves, it's impossible to hide that we're a very large team, and not everyone knows each other.

"Not long ago, I encountered a medical student who was mistakenly identified as a senior surgeon and was asked to do something not even a senior surgeon should perform. This is absurd to me, and that's why I initiated this project and started it myself. Some mistakes should never happen, and this is one of them," he concludes.
