A video recently shared on social media has greatly entertained the internet, showing tourists filming 'strange creatures' at a popular Thai beach, claiming they saw 'trolls' bathing in the sea.
The video was recorded by a man named Jamail Kawaja during a kayaking tour at Railay Beach, located in southern Thailand. "We were kayaking around Railay Bay and as we turned towards one of the caves, we found ourselves witnessing one of the most bizarre sights I have ever seen - creatures resembling small bears or trolls performing a musical ritual in the water. What is happening here?"
A musical ritual? You heard right! The 'trolls' were holding flutes and, wonder of wonders - they even knew how to play them.
Within a short time, the video spread rapidly, viewed more than 3.5 million times and receiving tens of thousands of comments and shares - yet many users refused to 'buy' the innocent claim of the tourist, which was written in good faith and nothing more. Within days, the video became viral until the simple truth was revealed and the true identity of the 'trolls', 'bears', and other animal names suggested by users from around the world was exposed.
"The artist crossing boundaries in interdisciplinary art," is the professional definition of Tori Wrånes, a Norwegian artist responsible for the team of mysterious creatures - who are none other than actors in costume. Wrånes explained to the network that she is currently staging a special troll show based on flute music, and the internet, in response, laughed and calmed down.
