This extraordinary story unfolded in October 2015, right after Amy Lewis from Australia gave birth to her first child. "The doctors told me that my placenta had detached, and my baby was born without a heartbeat," Lewis recalled to Australia's 'Daily Mail.' "I remember feeling terrified, yet somehow hopeful that a miracle would happen and my child would come back to life. I was convinced these things happen in delivery rooms all the time."

But when the doctors held little Phoenix and Amy didn't hear even the slightest sound of a cry, a wave of panic hit. "My heart just sank. It wasn't sadness, it was anger. The doctors desperately tried to revive my baby, but after what felt like endless efforts, I just knew he was gone. I could hear their whispers among themselves and their hopeless expressions. The baby was lifeless, and there was nothing we could do. When the doctor sat next to me, I simply asked, 'He's gone, right? He's dead.'"

The doctor had no words; he just nodded in agreement. "It was simply terrible. All I could imagine was a tiny white coffin, as I started processing what just happened."

Suddenly, the nurse shouted: "He's back, he's here!"

The medical team decided to give the weak mother a blood transfusion when out of nowhere, Amy heard a piercing shout from one of the nurses. "She screamed, 'He's back, he's here,' and suddenly I saw dozens of doctors and nurses around me. I still didn't hear him cry, but I knew something big was happening, a miracle that I still couldn't grasp or digest. I couldn't hold on and saw nothing as they took me to recover in another room, while all the doctors and nurses took Phoenix elsewhere," the stunned mother recounted.

"I just sat there for hours, trembling from the medication, wondering 'Where is my baby?' I had no clue what was happening; it was pure torture. When they took me to a room and left me alone, I didn't think I'd see my baby again."

But soon after, a nurse entered the room with a big smile on her face and said these words: 'Just so you know, you had a great miracle that we can't explain. Your baby was born and entered this world without a pulse. He was gone for 13 minutes before he came back to us.' Holding him for the first time was my breaking point. The world disappeared in those moments, and all that mattered was the little angel now in my arms. When he touched my nose with his tiny fingers, I felt my heart melt with love, and I burst into tears."

Amy added that now she truly understands the power of miracles and believes that even what seems illogical can become logical in an instant.
