While eruptions from Mount Vesuvius in Italy are nothing new, a recent fire raging through the area surprised locals with something unexpected: a 'furious face' formed from the thick smoke.

As a result of the fire, hundreds of residents had to evacuate the volcanic area. Despite this, local headlines insisted there is "no volcanic eruption threat, despite the intense flames and rising smoke above Mount Vesuvius."

Rosario Scotto di Minico, who posted the striking image on Facebook, claimed it was none other than a monster named 'Vesuvio', awakening from millennia of slumber. As amusing as it sounds, some people truly believe it and even shared bizarre theories in interviews with the local news network.
