For many years, Matthew and Lindsay Brentringer from Toledo, Ohio, tried to have children. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, they finally welcomed twins, William and Regan. However, as early as the 23rd week of pregnancy, it became clear that William would be born with various heart defects.

Although William survived the birth, he passed away after spending 11 days with his family. "Those were the happiest 11 days of my life," Lindsay said after his passing. "Since we didn’t know how long he would survive, it was important for us to document every moment of his life."

A professional photographer, who is a family friend, agreed to Lindsay's request to create a special family album featuring William with his sister. "The photos allow us to remember our special moments with him," the couple says today. "Although William is no longer with us, we have no doubt he is in a world that is entirely good—a world of little people who have not sinned."

"I still cry sometimes when I look at these amazing photos," Lindsay says. "In some of them, you can see William when he's fully alert, with his beautiful, big eyes. Sometimes it hurts, but we try to focus on what we have—our daughter—and not on who is no longer with us. We will always remember William, and he will always be part of us. But our motto is to move forward and focus on the beautiful things in life. We must understand that death is a part of life, and these photos are the most beautiful memories that will accompany us throughout our lives."
