An extraordinary albino alligator named Pearl, meaning 'pearl' in Hebrew, has made waves online after being caught on camera attempting to grab her handler's hat at the renowned Gatorland park in Orlando, Florida.

At ten years old, Pearl arrived at the park when she was just three, astonishing staff and visitors with her rarity. Only about three alligators in a million are born albino. The park spokesperson explains, "Her lack of pigmentation makes her skin white and her eyes pink." This spectacular appearance draws thousands of visitors from around the globe to catch a glimpse of Pearl each day. "Here, she's safeguarded from poachers who covet her unique skin, aiming to turn it into luxury leather goods," said the spokesperson.

Gatorland, committed to conservation, purchases alligators like Pearl to ensure their safety and to provide them with a secure environment, free from the threat of hunters.
