Thanks to his exceptional skills in calming babies, Dr. Harvey Karp has become one of the most popular figures among parents in the U.S. - particularly because of his book, 'The Happiest Baby on the Block,' where he shares tips with new parents on raising their newborns.

Dr. Karp's latest initiative led him to collaborate with a famous designer to fulfill his dream: designing a special crib that applies the principles he has been teaching for years, providing babies with all the stimuli they need to fall asleep peacefully.

Currently, the crib is available for sale at $1,160 and has quickly won the hearts of parents and professionals. According to Karp, the crib not only offers comfort and safety but can put a baby to sleep in a minute (!) and even prevent SIDS. "But this isn’t a miracle crib," he cautions. "If your baby is hungry or needs a diaper change, the crib won't do the job for you."

The smart crib can mimic the motions experienced by the baby while it was in the womb and even responds to crying with different movement patterns that vary based on the intensity of the crying. "This way, parents can understand their baby's condition: does the baby need more soothing in the crib, or is it a type of crying that the rocking won't solve (like hunger, a wet diaper, illness, etc.).

Another significant advantage of this beautiful innovation is its important contribution to the issue of infant mortality during sleep, known as SIDS. The smart crib comes with an additional product - a sack fitted to the baby's body that holds them securely to the mattress. According to Dr. Karp, this ensures the baby lies safely on their back throughout the night, with virtually no chance of rolling onto their stomach (a position that encourages SIDS).
