Who is 'painting' the Russian river red? Residents of 'Norilsk' in Siberia have lately witnessed a particularly strange phenomenon happening right under their noses: the waters of a river that flows through the town have suddenly and without any 'logical' explanation, turned a shade of red.

Many residents now believe this marks a particularly ominous omen, suggesting it might signal the beginning of a global-scale war. Some have gone so far as to call it a 'miracle', intended to prepare and warn them of what lies ahead.

On the other hand, some believe it's the result of different chemical substances spilled into the river by local factories over time. And what do the experts say? Comprehensive tests conducted in the area currently attribute the responsibility to a metal factory located on the riverbank, leaking waste from metal smelting directly into the river and causing its strange hue.
