Steve is a young American who's gained fame thanks to a series of YouTube videos where he films himself eating military rations from 1863, which he's been collecting for nearly a decade. In one video, he grimaces in disgust as he opens a metal can containing an unidentified spread, muttering through clenched teeth, "Oh wow, sometimes I just can't believe I'm doing this," he says.

So why does he do it? Good question. "All in all, once you get used to the taste, it's not that bad. Kind of like 'cotton candy.' I've eaten biscuits at least 65 years younger that tasted much worse," he said. That might be one reason, but a better reason is the popularity of his videos, which are likely the trigger for this bizarre challenge.

So what else is in Steve's collection besides Civil War rations packed in 1863? Old rations from the Vietnam War, a British Air Force ration, an American infantry ration, and believe it or not, one from World War II.
