This extraordinary sight was captured by dolphin researcher Krista Nicholson during her recent trip to Perth in Southern Australia. Nicholson is deeply immersed in researching the behavior of bottlenose dolphins along Western Australia, focusing on their living habits.

In the midst of her journey, Nicholson was taken aback as a dolphin leaped swiftly from the water, flinging an octopus from its snout into the air. She hurried to capture these dramatic moments with her camera. Reflecting later on this breathtaking and rare encounter, she shared with the media that in her six years of research, she had never witnessed anything like it. "The dolphin tossed the octopus in the air for five seemingly endless minutes, appearing 'happy' in a dolphin kind of way."
