Before 1948, lithium was a key ingredient in Pepsi's SEVEN-UP. Today, drink manufacturers steer clear of using it in sodas. In this video, a British chemist brings lithium back to SEVEN-UP. The result? At first, the drink fizzes, then darkens to a deep brown, reaching temperatures around 50 degrees Celsius.
