Only 12 hours after a photo of the 'Huntsman Spider'—the world's largest spider—was posted online, it made headlines. Clinging to a family home's window in Australia, the family's son shared the image with an especially shocked post, explaining that the frightening creature surprised him just as he was about to step outside. "It was just a few inches from my foot, and I nearly stepped on it," he recounted. "I slammed the door shut in panic, and a few minutes later, I saw it on one of the home's windows."

Crocodiles, snakes, bears, spiders, and even tigers—it's not the first time Australian residents have reported terrifying creatures appearing at their doorsteps or in their backyards. Most of the time, authorities need to intervene with professionals to capture the animal and return it to the wild.

However, the case of the Huntsman Spider sparked many humorous responses such as: "Why bother sending him back to the wild? He's quite friendly to humans, and his bite isn't venomous. Worst case, he'll eat the other insects in your home and clean up for you."
